A frog, or a woman with the head of a frog; in birth-house reliefs (Dendera mammisi) she attends Khnum as he moulds a child on his potter's wheel. Her name is written with a frog determinative, and Middle Kingdom ritual ivory knives and clappers used to ward off evil in childbirth carry it; frog amulets were worn in childbirth.
